NHL Predictions
Nashville Predators vs Toronto Maple Leafs
2024-25 Season Series: Predators 1-1 Maple Leafs
U.S TV: ESPN+; Fan Duel Spots South
Canada TV: TSN4
We open up NHL predictions with the Nashville Predators taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Nashville is expected to give Justus Annunen his first of the season. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Predators are coming off a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Canadian Thanksgiving. Jonathan Marchessault scored twice in the Predators’ best win of the season.
Toronto is expected to give Cayden Primeau his team debut in between the pipes. The Maple Leafs are coming off their second consecutive loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Monday. Matthew Knies had a hand in both goals for the Maple Leafs. However, Toronto is trying to figure things out after such a good start.
It’ll be hard to gauge how the backups look in their season debuts. Both teams are also coming a game the day before. Toronto should register the win and get back on track.
Prediction: Maple Leafs win 4-2.
2024-25 Season Series: Capitals 3-0 Rangers
Edmonton Oilers vs New York Rangers
2024-25 Season Series: Oilers 2-0 Rangers
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
How to Watch:
U.S TV: ESPN+; MSG
Canada TV: SN West
Our featured game of NHL predictions has the Oilers visiting Madison Square Garden to battle the Rangers. Stuart Skinner is expected to get the start after Calvin Pickard got the call against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. Edmonton got goals from Noah Philp, Leon Draisaitl, and Andrew Mangiapane in the win. Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Draisaitl each have three points to lead the team.
New York is expected to go with Igor Shesterkin, who is off to a fantastic starter. The Russian netminder is 2-1 with 0.67 goals-against-average and a shutout. New York is coming off a 1-0 loss to the Washington Capitals on Sunday night. Adam Fox leads the team in goals (3) and points (4) for the Blueshirts this season.
Shesterkin is playing well, but has to deal with a very prolific Edmonton offence. However, New York should finally get its first home win of the season.
Predictions: Rangers win 3-2.
Minnesota Wild vs Dallas Stars
2024-25 Season Series: Wild 2-2 Stars
Time: 9:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

Our last game of NHL predictions has the Dallas Stars hosting the Minnesota Wild. Filip Gustavsson is the projected starter with Jesper Wallstedt starting the night before against the Los Angeles Kings. Coming into Monday’s action, Both Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy are off to a great start this season. The pair each has two goals and four assists for six points.
Dallas is expected to go with Jake Oettinger in between the pipes. The Stars are off to a 2-0 start and look like one of the top teams early in the season. Mikko Rantanen and Thomas Harley each lead the team with four points. Each player has collected a goal and three assists so far this campaign. Jason Robertson and Wyatt Johnston each have notched two goals so far.
Dallas will be rested and Minnesota will have to travel after an 8 p.m. Eastern Time start time. The Stars should maintain their perfect start.

Prop Bets of the Night
We round out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. Let’s go back to our featured matchup for some of our preferred props. The over/under for the Oilers versus Rangers matchup is 5.5 and we like the under in this one. New York getting +110 on the money line is also worth a look.
As for individual props, go with Draisaitl to notch a power-play point for Edmonton. On the New York end of things, take Artemi Panarin to get the over on 0.5 assists.
