Edmonton Oilers Announce Lineup Changes for Game 4

Following their 6-1 loss in Game 3, there was speculation that the Oilers would make a change in net. Skinner has given up 13 goals through the first three games of the Final. Furthermore, he was pulled in Game 3. The Oilers had to decide if they were going to bench Skinner for the second time this postseason.

However, Skinner’s Game 4 resume may be what is keeping him between the pipes. In his career, Skinner is 6-0 in Game 4’s. Furthermore, he has a 1.26 goals against average alongside a .955 save percentage in Game 4’s.

The Other Skinner

Jeff Skinner has a goal and an assist in two games this postseason. His only goal came in the Oilers series-clincing win in the Western Conference Final. Skinner is replacing Viktor Arvidsson in the lineup and will play on a line alongside Adam Henrique and Trent Frederic.

Stecher Rejoins Lineup

Stecher has played in six games for the Oilers this postseason. In those games, he recorded six assists and brought physicality to the Oilers lineup. His exit from the lineup came when Mattias Ekholm returned from injury.

Stecher will play alongside Darnell Nurse.

Oilers Seeking Big Win in Game 4

The Oilers trail the Stanley Cup Final, 2-1. These lineup changes come as the Oilers seek to avoid falling in a 3-1 deficit in the series.

Of the three lineup announcements, Stuart Skinner is the one who will have all the eyes on. If he struggles, it will be interesting to see how quickly the team turns to Calvin Pickard.

If the Oilers are able to even the series, the Stanley Cup Final will become a best-of-three, with two of the three games being played in Edmonton.
