Some takeaways and end-of-the-season thoughts:
Folks, we now know what the “medium-body injury” was.
I repeat: We now know what the “medium-body injury” was!https://t.co/KxhHJkDBXW

So many takeaways from #NJDevils exit interviews.
The coaching search, the latest on Jack Hughes, Tom Fitzgerald’s (seemingly sincere) interest in Travis Green, the status of the assistants, etc.

Alex Chauvancy with some additional takeaways here as the season concludes: [Devils on the Rush ($)]
And here’s a roundup of thoughts from guys like Dougie Hamilton, Nico Hischier and plenty more: [Devils NHL]
“Tom Fitzgerald believes the New Jersey Devils remain an extraordinarily talented group, but he made loud and clear this week in his end-of-season meetings that nothing is delivered on a silver platter in becoming a consistent Stanley Cup Playoff contender.” [NHL.com]
Seamus Casey:
Fitz on Seamus Casey turning pro:
“If I was a betting man, I would say he’s probably leaning towards turning pro. We talked right before the National championship (…) to me, when you forfeit the rest of your college career, you need to be more than two feet in the water.”

Some good attendance numbers for the Devils this season, despite a disappointing campaign: “The Devils sold out more than half of their home games at Prudential Center and had only one crowd under 15,000 all season.” [The Athletic ($)]
Jack Hughes is a nominee for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy:
Our boy, our star on and off the ice.
Congrats to Jack on earning the King Clancy Memorial Trophy nomination!

Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo speaks:
Utah Blizzard? Utah Venom? Utah Fury? Utah Hockey Club? So what will the name be for this new team? [DetroitHockey.net]
The new team will be called “Utah” rather than “Salt Lake City.”
Don’t expect a mascot and official team nickname until Season 2 of the franchise. NHL wants the team to have plenty of time to get it right.
Just “Utah?”
“Utah HC?”
We could know tomorrow, with colors next week.
