Senior Bowl Standouts Jets Fans Should Know

February 2, 2026 by Jet Nation

The 2026 Senior Bowl week wrapped up down in Mobile, Alabama this week so we thought it would be a good idea to sit down to highlight some of the top performers who should be on the Jets radar.  Having been one of the league’s worst clubs on both sides of the ball, there was no shortage of names that could help Gang Green out in a big way.

Garrett Nussmeier, QB, LSU: Nobody had more to gain in Mobile than Nussmeier, who many viewed as a first-round pick heading in to this season.  He battled injuries though 2025 and had a very underwhelming season, leading some to day he was a now a mid-round pick.  After a strong week that culminated with being name the game’s MVP, Nussmeier may now be QB2 in this class with a chance to go in the top fifty.

Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame: A huge target at 6′ 4” 218, Fields saw a drop-off in production after moving from Virginia to Notre Dame but was easily one of the best performers throughout the week in Mobile and did pull in a 2-point conversion from Nussmeir on game day.

Bud Clark, Safety, TCU: The Jets have needed safety help for what feels like an eternity.  Year after year they put one band-aid after another on the position and it never seems to work out.  Yes, they did add Malachi Moore through the draft last season, but they could really use a ball hawk in the secondary.  NFL draft analyst Todd McShay said recently that Clark’s performance in Mobile may have vaulted him to the top fifty.

Feels like I’ve been watching @TCUFootball S Bud Clark for five years now. Hell of a play here to jump the route and take it the other way for six.

Lee Hunter, DT, Texas Tech: Hunter may have been overshadowed by some of his pass rushing teammates at Texas Tech, but this week was all Hunter.  Big, quick, and explosive, Hunter had some fantastic reps in 1-on-1’s and created plenty of buzz from those in attendance.  Given how poor the Jets were against the run, they could be considering Hunter with pick sixteen.

Jadyn Ott, RB, Oklahoma:

Ott was another player we felt had a chance to re-establish himself as s quality prospect after two down years in college.  Ott ran for over 1,300 yards with Cal two seasons ago but has been invisible since then.  An impressive runner who also does a very good job of picking up the blitz, he ran for 42 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.

As a sophomore w/ @CalFootball RB Jaydn Ott was one of the top RBs in the country. Logged 1,300 yds and 12 TD’s.

Over the following two yrs, he managed just 450 and 2 TD’s.

The @seniorbowl will let him show scouts which version was the real guy and which was the aberration. pic.twitter.com/J2YoCdn5zQ

Bryce Boettcher, LB, Oregon: Boettcher was a tackling machine at Oregon (230 in past two years) and we saw why this week.  One of the top performing linebackers through practices and the top tackler on game day with ten, Boettcher could be a Jets target, but if they opt to add a bigger ‘backer, the 224lb Boettcher could fall out of favor.

Caleb Banks, DT, Florida: Banks may have been the best defensive player on the field for either team all week long.  Consistently manhandled blockers whether it was facing one or two linemen.  A lock to go in the first round.

Beau Stephens, G, Iowa: We loved Stephens’ film all year long and viewed him as an underrated prospect.  He definitely popped in Mobile all week with some great work in 1-on-1’s.  With the futures of John Simpson and Alijah Vera-Tucker up in the air, the Jets could be looking to add a guard.  Stephens may not be a day 1 starter, but he has the ability to become one in the near future.

Just draft hogs out of Iowa, it usually works out.

Gabe Jacas, Edge, Illinois: Jacas may not have the arm length you’d like in an edge defender, but he’s one of many guys in the class who come in big at 260 while doing a great job of keeping his eyes in the backfield and outworking blockers.  Not a top fifty type of pick, but a guy who can set the edge and do a good job of harassing the quarterback.

Quintayvious Hutchins, Edge, Boston College: Hutchins was the most disruptive edge rusher on the field on game day and flashed several times during the week.  Undersized at 229 pounds, he’s unlikely to be an every down player, but if you can get him in the later rounds and allow him to be a situational pass rusher, he could be
