The Jets made a couple of moves:
We’ve released WR Allen Lazard.
We also signed LB Ochaun Mathis to the practice squad and released QB Adrian Martinez from the practice squad.

The reason for these releases is pretty obvious. Lazard wasn’t adding much so his departure frees up more reps for people actually in the team’s plans. And Martinez leaving must mean that either Tyrod Taylor or Justin Fields (or both) can return to practice this week.
Mathis adds some linebacker and special teams cover with the Jets banged up there. He was a sixth round pick in 2023 but the Jets are his fourth NFL team.

We’ve signed S Jarius Monroe to the active roster and signed DB Jaylen Mahoney to the practice squad.
