Here’s another move for the Jets, who have spent some money to bring in some linebacker help:
Veteran LB B.J. Goodson is signing a one-year deal worth up to $2.1 million with the #Jets, source said. Solid upside for Goodson, who has 43 career starts and was a key leader last season on the playoff-bound #Browns.

It’s pretty surprising Goodson was still available after being a full-time contributor who played over 900 snaps on a playoff team last season. The Jets need someone who they can plug in immediately but in the longer term they may have more faith in Goodson to line up alongside CJ Mosley than they do in rookie Jamien Sherwood once he’s recovered from his current injury.
Last season, Goodson played an important role in the Jets’ first win of the season when he tested positive for Covid-19 during the week and missed the Browns game against the then winless Jets.
