It looks like one previously-considered to be promising youngster is no longer in the Jets’ plans:
We released DT Leonard Taylor.
Additionally, we signed WR Trenton Irwin to the practice squad and released RB Avery Williams from the practice squad.

It seems like Taylor was lost in the shuffle this year with all the other options. Presumably they like the upside offered by Payton Page (who remains on the practice squad) more.
As noted the Jets also swapped out receivers on the practice squad. It was interesting to see that Isaiah Williams outlasted his namesake despite the costly fumble.
With the news today that Garrett Wilson has a hyperextended knee and might miss a few games, the Jets need more receiver depth than return men so they added Irwin as cover, although he can return punts too.
Irwin has started nine games in his career and caught 46 passes including five touchdowns, including four in 2022. His best season was 2023 as he caught 25 passes for 316 yards and a touchdown, which included one game where he caught eight passes.
