This isn’t surprising:
We have signed DE Michael Fletcher.
In addition, we have released K Greg Zuerlein.

It would have made little sense for the Jets to retain Zuerlein coming off a bad, injury-plagued year when they just cashed in a small cap saving to go younger at the punter position. This achieves the same thing and, as things stand, Anders Carlson will compete with the undrafted Caden Davis for the placekicker role in 2025.
Fletcher is 6’6″ and 260 pounds and was a role player for three years at Michigan State before transferring to Appalachian State and recording 8.5 sacks in two seasons. The rookie was at the recent mini-camp on a tryout basis.
At his pro day workout, Fletcher only ran a 4.93 and posted poor agility numbers but his explosiveness and strength numbers were solid.
