With Kene Nwangwu back, Williams will probably just be the punt returner. It’s interesting that he’s been elevated over Avery Williams, who did the job last week, but the Jets may just be mixing it up so they don’t use up all of the practice squad elevations for the various options before they have decided which one to keep.
Smith could see some action as a blocker and size option to replace Allen Lazard, who did not make the trip.
However, Smith has been a gunner in the past, so he may have been brought in to play that role instead with Arian Smith focusing on the receiving position with Lazard out.
Weston is only on week one of his three-week practice window so nothing changes and he remains on injured reserve officially.
