The Jets made a roster move to kick off bye week:

Smith was signed to the active roster as emergency cover and played eight offensive snaps and some special teams on Sunday. Presumably, this move is just a formality and he’ll be signed back to the practice squad once he clears waivers, but we’ll see what moves take place between now and the next game.
