The Jets have few good options at wide receiver beyond Garrett Wilson
I think it’s fair to say that few teams are jealous of the New York Jets 2025 receiving corps. Admittedly, they feature a great wideout as the leader of the group in Garrett Wilson, who is coming off three straight 1,000 yard campaigns. After that though? Politely, we could call it filled with potential, which is another way to say that none of them have really proven themselves to be capable NFL wideouts in recent years.
But someone must be the second receiver in the offense. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, that player is likely to be Josh Reynolds, with Cimini writing:
“Josh Reynolds is the clear-cut favorite for the WR2 job, ahead of Allen Lazard, whose name will continue to circulate in trade rumors now that Rodgers has landed with the [Pittsburgh] Steelers.”
For those who aren’t familiar with Reynolds, he’s been an NFL wideout since 2017. Over that time, he has accumulated 3,127 yards on 233 catches across 397 targets. Most recently, he opened the 2024 season with the Broncos before being waived and added by the Jacksonville Jaguars. In line with the Broncos seeing him fit to be waived, he accumulated all of 13 catches for 194 yards on 24 targets last season.
Overall, this report isn’t exactly what one would call reassuring. Fans may need to hope that a last minute addition to the roster is going to be coming if this team is to be competitive in 2025.
