Quinnen Williams has a lot (good) to say about Jets teammates

The DT is a big fan of some of his fellow Jets.

Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams had a bunch to say about his teammates this week, and it was all good.

Now let’s be clear. We are in the middle of training camp. Across the league, every team will sound like a Super Bowl contender if you ask them.

One of the ways I find useful to separate the tangible from the fluff in training camp is to listen for specificity. It’s easy to say something totally generic like, “This guy is great. He works so hard.”

In this case, you are hearing things these guys specifically do well. Time will tell how effectively Membou plays right tackle, but hearing an All Pro impressed by his strength is worth noting. The same can be said for the discussion of Sherwood’s leadership skills. Everybody saw Sherwood thrive a year ago as he stepped into the starting lineup. Still, CJ Mosley was valued above all else for the way he helped run the defense. It’s one thing to hear somebody talk about Sherwood’s tackling or sideline to sideline range. The fact that Quinnen pointed to his ownership of the defense seems notable to me.
