A plethora of NFL talent might be available for trades during the 2025 NFL draft
The focus of the 2025 NFL draft will understandably be on the incoming rookies. However, the draft also functions as a motivator for trades as teams look to trade picks to acquire useful veterans and open up roster spots. For example, just last year the New York Jets traded away defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers to the Denver Broncos on the last day of the NFL draft.
For a rebuilding team like the New York Jets, all options to acquire players should be open this year, including trades. So who could be available?
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the options might be a bit plentiful as he listed the below players as potentially tradable in his recent draft tidbits article.
Draft weekend is also a busy time for trades of players already on rosters. Here are players on rookie contracts who could be deemed expendable:
• Will Levis, QB, Titans
• Treylon Burks, WR, Titans
• Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, Giants
• Evan Neal, OL, Giants
• Jalin Hyatt, WR, Giants
• Sam Howell, QB, Seahawks
• Tyree Wilson, Edge, Raiders
• Greg Newsome II, CB, Browns
• Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jaguars
• Odafe Oweh, Edge, Ravens
• George Pickens, WR, Steelers
• Rachaad White, RB, Bucs
• Kayshon Boutte, WR, Patriots
And here are veterans who could be available via trade:
• Jalen Ramsey, CB, Dolphins
• Jaire Alexander, CB, Packers
• Kirk Cousins, QB, Falcons
• Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles
• Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens
• Trey Hendrickson, Edge, Bengals
Beyond this, reports have begun to make the rounds on X that the Detroit Lions could consider trading wide receiver Jameson Williams. New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn would know Williams well from the time that each spent with the Lions over the last few seasons.
Some people in league circles believe the Lions might trade WR Jameson Williams, per @AlbertBreer
Williams was a former 12th overall pick & had 1,001 yards, 17.3 YPC, & 7 TDs last season
Would you want the #Jets to trade for him❓

Of the potential trade candidates, I would personally like the Jets to prioritize younger players, if any. This is a rebuilding team in all likelihood, so acquiring young players with upside for day 3 capital is something that I would be open to.
In particular, I would be excited if the Jets were able to acquire a high upside receiver to complement Garrett Wilson. Of the above short list, George Pickens would be my favorite option and Treylon Burks and Jameson Williams would function more as fallbacks. I would also love to see what Aaron Glenn could do with an athletic talent such as Odafe Oweh, who seemed to be coming into his own a bit with 10 sacks last season.
What do you think? Are there any players on this list that you’d be excited to see the Jets acquire? If so, what do you think would be a fair trade package for said player?
