The Jets have a new starting tight end!
The New York Jets have selected tight end Mason Taylor out of LSU with the 42nd overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Mason Taylor is the son of former Dolphins and Jets star defensive end Jason Taylor. He is a 6’5”, 251 pound tight end.
Taylor is a smooth and toolsy tight end who may take some time to develop at a position notorious for being a difficult transition to the NFL. He probably will struggle a bit with blocking early on if the Jets intend to play him as an inline tight end. In the passing game Taylor should be a clear improvement on the guys the Jets have at the position.
The Jets remaining picks in the 2025 NFL draft are as follows:
Third Round: Pick #73
Fourth Round: Pick #110
Fifth Round: Pick #145
Fifth Round: Pick #162
Sixth Round: Pick #186
Sixth Round: Pick #207
