Good morning Gang Green Nation! Terry McLaurin has requested a trade from the Washington Commanders. As has been the case all summer long, when a big name guy is rumored to be available, out come the stories about how the New York Jets might acquire them. And as has been the case all summer long, such stories seem to fundamentally misunderstand how the Jets have conducted business this offseason. The Jets do not appear to be interested in expensive, big name dudes who will be on the wrong side of 30 years old this season, nor should they be. I would be very surprised if after the offseason we all just witnessed, the Jets were to suddenly turn around and not only trade substantial assets for a guy like McLaurin, but also sign him to a brand new and very expensive contract.
McLaurin’s an excellent receiver. He would make a great addition for a team that’s looking to add a top receiver to position them for a Super Bowl run this season. That’s not the Jets.
