Good morning Gang Green Nation! We’re in the final days before rookies report to New York Jets camp on July 19. All Jets rookies are signed and ready to report, with one exception: second round pick tight end Mason Taylor. Taylor is not alone in this regard around the league. In fact, every second round pick from the 2025 NFL draft remains unsigned other than the first two picks of the round. The issue involves guaranteed money. The top two picks of the second round in the 2025 NFL draft received 100% guaranteed contracts this year, the first time that has happened. Naturally the remaining unsigned second round picks want to get in on this 100% guaranteed deal, and so far NFL teams are standing firm against that development. Eventually the dam will break and we will see guys sign in rapid succession, but when that happens is anyone’s guess. Until then the Jets, along with almost every other NFL team, will be one guy short among their rookies.
