Good morning Gang Green Nation! ESPN has posted an early mock draft for 2026. They have the New York Jets taking Texas linebacker Anthony Hill with the fourth overall pick in the draft. Of course, mock drafts this early are ridiculous. We have no idea what the draft order will be. We have no idea who will rise, who will fall and who will emerge out of nowhere in the draft. So, yeah, it’s a fool’s errand. I will say this much though. If the Jets were to take a linebacker with the fourth overall pick in the draft, I don’t think I’d be too thrilled. The Jets have clear needs at multiple high value positions. If they were to ignore those needs to take a linebacker at #4, that linebacker better wind up in the Hall of Fame some day.
Fortunately this isn’t something to take seriously. There’s a long and winding road ahead before the 2026 NFL draft rolls around. With today being the first day of July, we are now just three weeks away from the start of training camp. The wait is almost over.
