Jets quarterback Justin Fields left practice with an injury on Thursday and rode in the locker room in a cart. Understandably, nerves were on edge in the Jets fanbase upon hearing this news.
Head coach Aaron Glenn stated after practice that Fields’ injury was to a toe.

Ian Rapoport indicates that Fields’ toe injury is a dislocation.

I think when any Jets fan heard the news that Fields was carted off the field, their mind immediately moved to the worst case scenario. When you root for this team, you tend to expect the worst. That is true for one simple reason. The worst things always seem to happen to the Jets. A few fake NFL insider accounts spreading false information after Fields was carted off didn’t help things.
This isn’t to minimize Fields’ injury. At this point, we don’t know the extent or how much time he might need to miss. At the very least, he has already missed some practice time at a stage where he needs to get comfortable with a new system and new teammates. But compared with what this could have been, the fanbase is likely breathing a sigh of relief right now.
