Fields probably won’t be out out for long.
On Thursday, Justin Fields limped off the practice field at Jets training camp and was carted away. At the time, there was legitimate concern across the fanbase that he could miss extensive time.
On Friday, Fields returned to that practice field.

While he was in uniform, Fields did not take part in the practice. Head coach Aaron Glenn still characterizes his status as day-to-day.
UPDATE: Justin Fields lives! One day after the injury scare, he was back on the field, in uniform … but no participation. Not yet. More on his injury. #Jets https://t.co/KVpMrrwUzr

Aaron Glenn reiterates that Fields is day to day. Calls yesterday’s injury scare “a huge storm that made no sense,” though he admits there was some initial concern. #Jets

There is a long time between now and Week 1. The Jets won’t want to rush Fields back before he is ready to return.
Still this training camp is probably more important for him than it is for your typical player. He is trying to get comfortable with a new system, coaching staff, and teammates. The sooner he can return to the practice field, the better. This is particularly true since Fields is unlikely to see much action in preseason games. His reps will mostly come in practice.
