Early concern for the #Jets: Justin Fields is carted to the locker room. He’s riding shotgun on the cart, not on the back. Oh, boy. #Jets

Fields was injured on the first play of the second team period. Aaron Glenn immediately stopped the period and moved on to a special teams drill. The cart transporting Fields took the long way to the locker room, avoiding the area where reporters are standing. #Jets

The Jets signed Fields this offseason from the Pittsburgh Steelers on a two year contract. The hope is that the quarterback who has been up and down in his young career can develop and flourish in New York.
The biggest hole the team had entering the offseason was quarterback, and the Jets aggressively courted Fields in free agency. He is a central part of the plan in year one of Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey. Providing the Jets with a baseline of solid play from the quarterback position would be a big deal for a franchise that has been so frequently lacking it.
The Jets have not provided any immediate updates on Fields’ condition. We will monitor and keep you up to date as news develops. Until then, we can all hope for the best.
