The Jets are coming off an absolutely offensive defensive performance, one that culminated in an embarrassing 48-20 loss in Jacksonville. There were a few reasons to celebrate, such as Brady Cook getting his first TD in his first start. Otherwise, it’s best to wipe last week clean and move on.
Fortunately, New York’s next opponent is another team closer to the top of the draft board than the top of the NFL standings. The New Orleans Saints await, although they’ve won consecutive matchups entering Week 16.

New York Jets Spread vs. Saints: +5.5 (-110) via BetMGM
While the Jets have lost consecutive games and weren’t even close to covering the spread either time, the Saints were trending the other way. New Orleans beat the spread in their previous three games and four of the last five overall. However, it’s notable that their lone ATS loss in that span came as home favorites.
One of the best things going for the Jets in this game is that the Saints are rough offensively. They’re 29th in scoring, 28th in yards per play, banged-up, and shaky in pass protection. Rookie QB Tyler Shough is serviceable but unspectacular. New Orleans has 20 giveaways, a total tied for the fourth-most (the Jets also have 20).
Scoring is where New York may run into issues. The Saints are 11th in yards allowed per play and 19th in points allowed. This is a group that has proven to hold its own. The takeaway totals are solid (tied for 16th), and Brady Cook threw three picks last week. Considering the Jets have three takeaways all season, any turnovers by the offense will probably ensure that New York loses the turnover battle.
The Jets could easily keep things tight or win if they can establish the rushing attack early. Staying ahead of the sticks should decrease the chances of a giveaway and force the Saints’ offense to execute the full length of the field. A win may be a lofty expectation, but New York keeping the final score without five points seems very realistic.

Jets vs. Saints Total Pick: Under 40.5 (-110) via Fanatics Sportsbook
New York may have a penchant for high-scoring games this season, especially lately, but their offense isn’t typically the catalyst. The Jets are 27th in scoring and have only exceeded 20 points once in their previous five contests. Meanwhile, the Saints have been on a low-scoring tear lately.
The over has only hit once in New Orleans’ previous 10 games. They’re averaging only 16.0 points per game in that stretch. The Saints have failed to exceed 20 points in four straight home games.
Ultimately, these are two teams that struggle to move the ball and score. They’re also offenses that are sack and turnover-prone, which could kill potential scoring drives.
Six of the Saints’ seven home games this year finished under the total. This matchup shouldn’t buck that trend.
New York Jets Prop Bet of the Week: Adonai Mitchell Longest Reception Over 19.5 Yards (-110) via FanDuel Sportsbook
With an honorable mention to Mitchell over 40.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel), this one feels better. In his five weeks as a Jet, Mitchell has commanded most of the targets, racking up 40 in that short time. He also caught a pass longer than 20 yards in four of those games.
Where less than half of his targets have resulted in receptions, he at least makes up for it by being explosive. The Saints aren’t shy about allowing long passing plays. Three Panthers last week caught a pass and gained more than 20 yards.
Roll with Adonai Mitchell to deliver another big play this Sunday.
