Sunday presents another opportunity to earn their first win under head coach Aaron Glenn. If this week ends with win number one, it’ll have to happen in Cincinnati.
For the first time since 2019, the Jets must travel to face the Bengals. Can Gang Green make the most of this trip?

New York Jets Spread vs. Bengals: +6.5 (-110) via Fanatics Sportsbook
Unfortunately, the Bengals have already learned that Jake Browning would not lead to success as the team’s starting QB and addressed the issue. Former Jet Joe Flacco has turned Cincinnati’s offense back into a competitive bunch.
In two games with Flacco, the Bengals have mustered 51 points. Their rushing attack is nonexistent, but he’s thrown for 561 yards and five touchdowns without an interception. Although the past few weeks were an improvement defensively, New York’s pass rush and pass defense have been rough this season.
That says nothing of the Jets’ offense, which is 30th in yards per play, last in passing yards, and 27th in points per game. New York combined for 17 points in their previous pair of losses and has an uninspiring QB situation right now.
If there’s any reason for hope, the Bengals’ defense is 31st in points allowed and yards allowed per game. They’ve allowed at least 27 points in six consecutive matchups. If Garrett Wilson plays, the Jets’ offense should have enough juice to make things interesting.
It’s not looking great this weekend, but +6.5 or an alternate line bumped to +7.5 may be worth it, especially if Wilson returns to the field. The Bengals don’t have a win by more than four points this season, and their atrocious defense is the primary reason why.
Jets vs. Bengals Total Pick: Over 44.5 (-105) via ESPN BET
This pick doesn’t need to be complicated.
The over has hit in both of New York’s road matchups this season. Before the last two games, the over had won in 10 of the Jets’ previous 13 contests. For the season, this defense is allowing 26.1 points per game, 26th in the league.
On the other side, all of Cincinnati’s home games this year have easily flown over the total. During their last six games, the Bengals have surrendered 33.0 points per game, and the over is 4-1-1 in those matchups. The Bengals’ defense is 31st in scoring.
Fade both defensive units on Sunday. Ride with the over.
New York Jets Prop Bet of the Week: Over 19.5 Team Total Points (-102) via DraftKings Sportsbook
The Jets topped 20 points in four of their first five games. That includes both times the team traveled. Up against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, New York should get there again, right?
Cincinnati has allowed at least 27 points in six straight games, against offenses of varying levels. The Bengals are weak against the run, weak against the pass, and have an underwhelming pass rush outside of Trey Hendrickson.
Win or lose, the way the Bengals play, the Jets should find a way to score more than 20 points. There really aren’t excuses for falling short of that mark against Cincinnati.
