According to multiple reports, the New York Jets are trading CB Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first round draft picks.
Gardner, #4 pick overall in the 2022 draft, was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2022. He signed a 4-year contract extension worth $120.4M before the start of this season. This trade leaves the Gang Green with $8.1M of dead money in 2025 and $11M of dead money in 2026.
Gardner’s production has been steadily going downhill since his first two stellar seasons in the league. He had only one interception and 9 pass defenses last year and zero interceptions in 7 games this season.
