Aaron Glenn continues to fill out his initial coaching staff with the New York Jets and the special team coordinator position has reportedly been filled.
According to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis, Chris Banjo will be named the special teams coordinator of the Jets. He was previously the assistant special teams coach with the Denver Broncos:
Per source, Chris Banjo and Jets are working on a deal that will make him their new special teams coordinator. Deal should be done tonight.

Banjo, 34, was a safety and special teams ace in the NFL from 2013-2022. Banjo spent time with four teams in his playing days and joined Sean Payton’s coaching staff in 2023 after the ex-safety retired from football.
Banjo reportedly reportedly interview with the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers relating to their vacant special teams coordinator positions as well. However, those teams went on to filled their openings.
Along with Banjo, Glenn has hired Steve Wilks as his defensive coordinator in New York. Glenn’s offensive coordinator spot has not yet been announced.
