The new quarterback wants to be here beyond 2025. That will depend on how well he plays.
Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in New York Jets fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The Jets have a new quarterback in 2025, Justin Fields. Fields was the top choice of the new regime during the offseason.
Much time has gone into debating whether Fields will be good enough this season. Less attention has focused on defining what success means.
I will take my shot at it now. I think 2025 is a success for Fields if a year from now he remains the Jets’ undisputed starting quarterback. Maybe the Jets take somebody in the NFL Draft, but if Fields is good enough this year the plan can be to sit that guy for a year and develop him from the bench.
Now we turn it over to you. Do you think Fields will fit my definition of success in 2025? Vote below, and we will bring the results later.
