New York Jets linebacker CJ Mosley will miss another game this upcoming weekend as his team travels to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 14.
But the Jets (3-9) won’t just be without him in Miami (5-7).
Mosley, 32, will head to injured reserve. New York interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich made that announcement on Friday.
“It’s the best decision for him and our organization,” Ulbrich said.
Mosley has dealt with a slew of injuries in 2024 starting with a foot injury in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. The final knock he sustained had been the most interesting.
In Week 8, Mosley was set to be in the lineup against the New England Patriots. He was injured in warmups and suffered a neck injury and has not played since.
Mosley had expressed some concerns with returning to football following the serious problem. In recent weeks he showed some signs of optimism about playing again, but his future is up in the air and retirement could be a possibility.
Mosley, who signed in New York via free agency in 2019, is under contract with the Jets in 2025. Mosley opted out in 202 due to COVID-19, but in the following three seasons he played the full year. In 2024, he has been limited to four appearances.
