Things have gotten a little rough for the Jets
After starting the season 3-3, the New York Jets entered into the bye week and hopes were pretty high. Since then, the Jets have gone 1-4, all but ending their playoff hopes.
But how have the Jets played since the bye? Is it bad luck? Do both units stink? What exactly is going on?
Well, based on expected points added (EPA), the Jets defense has been pretty good since Week 6, while the Jets offense has been the worst in the league by a pretty considerable amount.
Just ran the team tiers since week 6 b/c of the Broncos (hey, they’re the Bears with an expensive QB) and lmao Cowboys pic.twitter.com/5YwdvpSDYw

On one hand, that basically means there’s nowhere to go but up. On the other, they’re about as far from league average as are the Dallas Cowboys, who have scored 40 points 3 times in that same time frame, so the climb to league average is a far one.
In reality, this season is basically over, so I guess the hope is really just that they can make the necessary improvements to be meaningfully better next season. Fingers crossed.
