Glenn Rings The Changes As The Jets Look To Build A New Engine

The 2025 National Football League calendar has been another intriguing one for franchises across the eight divisional setups, but for those in the Gang Green, it has been an undeniably woeful campaign, with the New York Jets slipping to a 3-14 in the AFC East regular season.

Given the performance levels and results that those in the Jet Nation have seen in the last few years, it is going to be a huge offseason for the front office and head coach Aaron Glenn.

This time of year normally sees plenty of change on a roster and staffing front, and all franchises will be making their plans for the campaign that lies ahead, but there is an expectation that MetLife Stadium will be a revolving door as they once again seek a foundation that will finally yield success.

The 53-year-old, humble, Texas native, Aaron Glenn, is now preparing for his second season in charge of the Jets, having signed a five-year contract last January.

On a staffing front, he has already dispensed with seven coaches as he looks to streamline and improve both the offense and defense. Charles London, Scott Turner, Eric Washington, Aaron Curry, Roosevelt Williams, and Alonso Escalante have all been handed their goodbyes and follow Steve Wilks out the door, and there is an expectation that those who remain could well be reassigned in the weeks to come.

The team has also interviewed eight candidates as they narrow in on the vacant defensive coordinator position, and the sackings would imply that an appointment is favored, and that our newbie is on board with a clean defensive slate to start from.

Most fans will be happy to let that tick along in the background while they sit down for the upcoming curtain-closing clash between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks and simply thank their lucky stars that it is not the Chiefs and the Eagles who again feature in Super Bowl 60 odds and betting predictions! But many Jets fans will still be watching closely for exactly what changes now take place between now and the NFL Draft, the Senior Bowl, the Combine, and pro days.

Arguably, the changes will not yield the results everyone wants. It is a very dramatic 12-month period, and the numbers show that it is not just usual head coach tweaking. However, Jets fans will be supportive now that a running back is no longer the QB coach. But now they will be looking for offensive changes to reset those clear failings, and arguably, a play caller would be top of the list.

There is no silver bullet for the Jets in terms of securing a quick turnaround, but steady and improved progress should be the order of the day. Rome, nor the MetLife, was built in a day, having something to cheer buys time and will go a long way for a happier 2026 season.

After all, once staff changes are solidified, then we can talk about the NY Jets Roster itself.
