Most recently, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that Saleh will interview for their vacant head coach position:
The #Cowboys have interest in and are expected to interview former #Jets coach Robert Saleh for the vacant head coach position, source said. Would be their first known request.

Saleh, 45, was fired in New York this past October. The Jets were 2-3 at the time of the surprise mov. Under the watch of interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, the situation did not improve as the team ended with a 5-12 record.
Saleh was seen as somebody who would certainly get a sniff at a defensive coordinator position following his time in New York. He’s getting interviews for those positions around the NFL as well.
The Cowboys are not the only head coach vacancy he’s interviewed for, either.
Here’s a rundown of positions Saleh has interviewed for so far during the current hiring cycle:
- Dallas Cowboys (head coach)
- Jacksonville Jaguars (head coach)
- Las Vegas Raiders (head coach)
- San Francisco 49ers (defensive coordinator)
- Tennessee Titans (defensive coordinator)
