The 2025 schedule is out.
We now have the 2025 Jets schedule. Here are some early thoughts on the order of games the Jets got.
An early opportunity: One thing that jumps off the page is how frontloaded the schedule is with home games. Five of the nine home games in 2025 take place in the first seven weeks. Of course one of those is not a true home game since the Jets will travel to London to take on the Broncos in Week 6. Still, this is a real chance for the team to get off to a good start. While nominally the schedule begins with three straight games against 2025 Playoff teams, Buffalo appears to be the only real Super Bowl contender in the first seven. Sometimes a hot start can spark a team to a surprise season.
Good spacing: Of course teams can surprise us, but on paper I would guess the four toughest games the Jets face are Buffalo (x2), Baltimore, and Cincinnati. Sometimes when the toughest games come consecutively, it can create a losing streak that sends a team into a tailspin. Fortunately for the Jets, none of these games were scheduled back to back.
Back to basics: The Jets are only scheduled for two primetime games, Week 4 at Miami on Monday Night Football and Week 11 at New England on Thursday Night Football. The last two seasons, the Jets were among the favorite primetime choices for schedule makers. Obviously with Aaron Rodgers gone, the Jets aren’t quite as hot of a ticket. Of course, flex scheduling could change that if the team does surprise.
The benefit: With mostly 1:00 pm Sunday kickoffs, the Jets won’t have to deal with many short weeks. In fact, the only road game the Jets have on a short week is that Thursday Night game in New England. And it comes with a benefit. The Jets play Baltimore after New England, meaning they will get three extra days to prepare for the Ravens.
