“Don’t Be Fooled Cowboy Fans”: Jets Fans Reacted to Dallas’ Championship-Level Football

October 7, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

On Sunday, Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys (NFC East, 2-2-1) beat Justin Fields and the New York Jets (AFC East, 0-5) 37-22 at MetLife Stadium. Cornerback Trevon Diggs said quick pressure and defensive flexibility made the difference.

“When we have pressure like that, we can call whatever,” Diggs said. “We can call prevent defense and it would’ve won.”

Diggs said the Cowboys played more man coverage, which helped hold the Jets to 22 points.

“It worked,” he said. “We got off the field. The D-line was getting back there so fast. We say when they get back there fast it’s called Instant Grits. You know how you make the Instant Grits in the packet? You don’t want oatmeal. Oatmeal takes too long. You want Instant Grits. We had Instant Grits (Sunday).”

Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs: “When we have pressure like that, we can call whatever. We can call prevent (defense) and it would’ve won.”

Jets Fans Reacted to Dallas’ Championship-Level Football

Some football fans noted the Jets’ poor offense made it an easy matchup:

“That defense is the worst in the league..,” a fan wrote. “Don’t be fooled Cowboy fans .. your offense will have to score 40+ every game to win all season ..”

“A little uppity for so/so success against the worst team and offense in the league,” another wrote. “Receivers were open, Fields just can’t find or get it to them.”

Others praised Diggs for his leadership:

“Great to see the defense working so well together, Trevon! Your hard work is really paying off!” one fan wrote.

“That’s my DB1,” another wrote.

Dallas star Diggs finished with one tackle and three assists.

The Cowboys’ Defense Silencing Critics

The Cowboys’ defense dominated, silencing critics after weeks of struggles. The pass rush, powered by “Instant Grits,” set the tone and gave the secondary control.

Running back Javonte Williams rushed for 135 yards and thanked his coaches for their trust.

“I mean it just feels good for them to have trust in me, and just know that even if it doesn’t start working in the first quarter, we just got to stick with it and keep going, because we’re gonna need that later on down the season,” Williams said. “I’ve been saying the whole time, it’s the other good backs in the room, and I feel like that’s why I’m doing so good now, because they push me every day.”

Cornerback Juanyeh Thomas made his first start while facing his brother (Jets rookie cornerback Azareye’h Thomas) on the other sideline. His mother wept in the stands as the two met on the field after the game.

For the Cowboys, Prescott completed 18 of 29 passes for 237 yards and four touchdowns against the Jets. Williams led the ground game with 16 carries for 135 yards and one touchdown. Receiver Ryan Flournoy caught six passes for 114 yards, helping power the Cowboys’ offense.

The win showed the balance the Cowboys have been chasing. Players said this was just the start of consistent, championship-level football. Only time will tell if the Cowboys will see more success in upcoming games, given the improvements they’ve been searching for.
