The New York Jets lost again and in a very “Jets” way.
The Seattle Seahawks (7-5) took a 26-21 win in New York (3-9) in Week 13. That unfolded despite the Jets holding a big lead early and for the first three quarters of the game… plus New York was coming off of their bye.
All in all, the defeat was a tough one and it brought out plenty of emotions in the locker room.
Running back Breece Hall, who fumbled twice in the outing, put the loss on his own shoulders.
“It is what it is. Like I said, it sucks. I feel like I lost us the game,” Hall said. “I feel like this year has been the most trying of my life.”
On defense, cornerback Sauce Gardner did not have as poor of an individual outing as Hall. Pro Football Focus graded Gardner as New York’s best defender in the contest with a 90.1 overall mark.
Even so, the year as a whole has been tough on Gardner. It has not been his best which led to some of those emotions coming out during his post-game interview.
“I don’t think me, in my time playing football, I’ve ever been 3-9. So this is a feeling I’ve never felt before,” Gardner said. “We had huge aspirations.”
Fortunately (or potentially unfortunately), Hall and Gardner have a few more chances to get it right on the field before the end of the 2024 season, starting with a visit to the Miami Dolphins (5-7) in Week 14.
Hall’s full post-game reaction can be found in the clip below:
