We have a trade!
Sources: The #Eagles are trading for #Jets versatile CB Michael Carter II to fill a need for them, with WR John Metchie III heading to NYJ in the deal.
In all:

Carter has been a combination of poor and injured since he signed his extension ahead of last season so it’s no surprise to see the Jets move him before the big money kicks in and to get some value for him isn’t bad. He played just six snaps on Sunday, so the Jets don’t really need him now that Jarvis Brownlee is here.
As for Metchie, the Jets are getting someone that adds to a weak receiver group. The former second round pick was diagnosed with cancer after he was drafted but has overcome that to make it back to the NFL, although he has just 44 career catches including just four this season.
Metchie is probably not much of an upgrade but really he’s much like the guys they already have – someone who shown promise at times and needed an opportunity to produce. Whether he’ll do better at that than the others, we shall see.
