2025 NY Jets Six-Round Mock Draft

April 23, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

2025 NFL Draft prospect Tyler Warren, Penn State, tight end

The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off this Thursday in Green Bay, Wisconsin. 32 teams across the league with the opportunity to add an impact talent to their roster. All eyes eagerly await the Tennessee Titans decision with the first overall pick. Has Miami quarterback Cam Ward solidified himself as their next franchise player? Will Heisman winner Travis Hunter be taken afterwards by the Cleveland Browns? Another top 10 team with the spotlight shined on them is the New York Jets. Among the consensus of NY Jets mock drafts, the favorites for the seventh overall pick have come down to two players. A playmaking tight end out of Penn State and a standout right tackle from Missouri. Who will hear their name called on Thursday?

2025 NY Jets Six-Round Mock Draft

Fans are eager to see the first NFL Draft of the Aaron Glenn regime. 31 years after being drafted by the team with the 12th overall pick, the 1994 first-round pick has returned to the organization as their head coach. The former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator is joined by new general manager Darren Mougey, working their first draft together. While a defensive coach, it’s presumed New York will address both the tight end and right tackle positions early.

First Round/7th overall pick: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

The pick seems to come down to Tyler Warren and Missouri right tackle Armand Membou. The Jets opt for a versatile tight end who can become the team’s second-best receiving option in his rookie season. While with the Chicago Bears, quarterback Justin Fields frequently targeted Cole Kmet. Providing Fields with an offensive talent like Fields gives him a safety net when Garrett Wilson gets double-covered.

Right tackle is still a major need, but Warren will impact the running game as well. Looking to replicate the Detroit Lions rushing game, Warren in the backfield adds another blocker for Breece Hall to run behind. Now reunited with 2024 first-round pick Olu Fashanu, the Jets go with back-to-back Penn State players to help their offense.

Second Round/42nd overall pick: Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota

After going with a tight end at seven, the Jets find a worthy investment for their future right tackle. With size at the tackle position being valued, Minnesota offensive tackle Aireontae Ersery has that and then some. Standing at an imposing 6’6″ and 331 lbs, the longtime Gopher has great potential. With 38 games of starting experience, the 2024 Big Ten offensive lineman of the year held his own. Including a stellar performance against Abdul Carter. (Minnesota had over 400 yards on offense vs. Penn State) Patience will be needed, but reuniting with former Gophers running backs coach Nic McKissic-Luke can help Ersery acclimate early.

Third Round/73rd overall pick: Andrew Mukuba, safety, Texas

Addressing a long-term need in the secondary could be a big time pick-up. After signing Andre Cisco to a one-year contract, safety remains a position of need. Zimbabwe native Andrew Mukuba has made himself into a hot commodity. After three standout seasons at Clemson, he elevated his game after transferring to Texas this season. Despite size concerns, Mukuba has impressive route recognition skills and makes plays on the ball. Between the experience of both Glenn and defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, Mukuba can become a long-time starter if he can develop.

Fourth Round/109th overall pick: Tory Horton, wide receiver, Colorado State

Starting the draft’s final day, New York takes on a promising partner next to Garrett Wilson. Based on potential alone, Horton would be talked about in higher regard had it not been for a knee injury in October. Despite it, Horton recovered with a great combine, recording the fastest 40-yard time. Along with a great physical profile at 6’2″, 200lbs frame, Horton should excel as a deep route threat in Tanner Engstrand’s offense.

Fifth Round/146th overall pick: Joshua Farmer, defensive tackle, Florida State

When analyzing the depth chart, the team remains thin at depth on the defensive line. Specifically on the interior, even after signing Derrick Nnadi. While Nnadi gives Quinnen Williams some experience, they will need someone to develop under him. Due to his impressive pass-rushing abilities, Joshua Farmer has potential despite inconsistent play. Allowing him to learn from an experienced defensive line coach like Eric Washington, Farmer can develop into a starter.

Fifth Round/157th overall pick(acquired from the Steelers): Will Howard, quarterback, Ohio State

After three seasons at Kansas State, Will Howard gambled on himself and became a National Champion at Ohio State. Mechanical issues with footwork & lack of creativity limited his upside. However, despite this, Howard’s lively arm and pro-style experience make him a promising project to develop at quarterback. Due to Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor also in the QB room, Howard won’t have to play right away. With Engstrand’s offense to emphasize play action more, Howard could produce poor man’s Jared Goff levels of production if he successfully develops.

Sixth Round/188th overall pick: Oluwafemi Oladejo, linebacker/edge rusher, UCLA

After prioritizing the offense, the team rounds out their final round helping the defensive line and secondary. Even though he’s limited in his pass rush moves and lacks uneven pad leveling, the upside for Oluwafemi Oladejo is very appealing. The Jets will hope the veteran experience on the coaching staff can round out his game. While he’d be featured in sub-packages early, the linebacker-turned-edge-rusher should contribute on special teams.

Sixth Round/209th overall pick(acquired from the Chiefs): Jason Marshall Jr, cornerback, Florida

After signing Brandon Stephens to a three-year contract, New York would benefit from more defensive back depth. Among the remaining players available, Jason Marshall Jr has high upside. Possessing a prototypical build for a defensive back, Marshall’s physical play style and press coverage skills make him very appealing. Potentially learning from Sauce Gardner and Michael Carter II can ensure his development into a starting cornerback long term.
