Before the season started, UltimateNYG’s draft Analyst said that the NY Giants needed to tank for a QB. “2022 was the worst thing that could have happened to the Giants,” explained Wonder. “It covered up larger issues for Jones.”

If the Giants are 7-10, Daboll should get an award. The front office should root for 2-15 and get a new QB. They have only one part of their team that is reasonable- the DL. The OL should be better, particularly if Schmitz comes on. Nabers will be great. Hyatt will need to convince me he is a #2. Robinson can be a good slot receiver. OL needs seasoning + 1 or 2 pieces. Because they can’t consistently run the football, they will have a hard time. The worst thing that happened to them was going 9-7-1 and winning a playoff game in 2022. They were -6 on point differential that year and it was an illusion.”Wonder 8/26/24

This post today leads up to the Dallas Turkey Day game. Two Turkeys. Drew Lock will get the start with limited reps in a short week. He will also have two backups starting at Tackle (Hubbard and Neal). Dallas probably represented the best opportunity for a win the rest of the way out. Lock won’t have any real opportunity to develop chemistry with players like Nabers. At this point I’m all for it, because 2-15 is what I need for a QB. That is where I am, when, I literally left the sports bar at halftime on Sunday KNOWING there was “ZERO chance of a win. Zero.”
Schmitz has been inconsistent, playing better and then getting run over by Vita Vea. We still need convincing on Jalin Hyatt, but his film last week was positive. Wonder could not have predicted the R5 bolt of Tyrone Tracy as a rookie impacting the run game (although Dan Schneier is certainly not surprised). Opposing defenses are crowding the first 10 yards, else this Offense would be able to run a little better.
