The Giants fill the hole left by Bryce Ford-Wheaton
The New York Giants are re-signing receiver and kick returner Gunner Olszewski, per a report from Jordan Raanan of ESPN.

Move comes on the heels of losing receiver and special teamer Bryce Ford-Wheaton for the season with an Achilles tear.

The move to re-sign Olszewski is a predictable one after the team lost receiver and special teamer Bryce Ford-Wheaton on Sunday.
The Giants initially signed Olszewski in late October 2023 after scrambling to find an answer at returner. Olszewski had previously played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but had been released earlier that month.
He quickly proved to be a breath of fresh air for the Giants, returning 23 punts for 273 yards, an average of 11.9 per return. He nearly set a franchise record with a 94-yard punt return for a touchdown against in a narrow 26-25 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Re-signing Olszewski gives the Giants depth and competition at the position. Ihmir Smith-Marsette handled return duties last year (and had a kickoff return for a touchdown), but the Giants have been hurt by not having good options in the return game before.
