Below, we post ratings for the 22 Giants starters. I’ll post this weekend to recap the Dallas game.
Are the Giants ready to win in primetime? I thought the CLE game was a better opportunity. DAL still has the Giants number. The best hope is the Offensive line. If they can control the line of scrimmage, the Giants can be competitive and have a shot in Q4. Play the game.
It’s only 3 games in, but let’s give ratings to the 22 Giants starters. Some of the rating has a tail effect on past performance, but I tried to also weight it with 2024. Remember our draft scale:

There is a great deal of subtlety here. Some are rising, some are falling. Nubin, as one example, is a rising 3, a work in progress. If Singletary can hold onto the football, he would be a 3. Thibodeaux will need to get pressures against good Tackles in order for me to give him a 3. And when you get drafted at 1.05 and are a 4, you are a Bust. Sorry. Not sorry. Step it up.
Daniel Jones is magnanimously given a 4. He is a replaceable starter for the Giants. He would and will be a 5 Backup in his future until he can consistently read defenses and throw with anticipation.
Deonte Banks is off to a rough start this year but he keeps getting lined up against the best in the NFL. Justin Jefferson. Terry McLaurin. Amari Cooper. Look at what McLaurin did on Monday night to be reminded that Banks is not a liability, he is a solid starter.
The good news for the Giants is that every Solid Starter listed has a possibility to be a Pro Bowl player. That is where the development and experience comes in. This might sound crazy, but Phillips has a possibility of being an All Pro in his future. This is how you re/build.
