Pratik Patel, who was entering his fourth season as the New York Giants’ director of performance nutrition/assistant strength and conditioning coach, announced on Sunday evening that he is leaving the organization.
Citing long work hours, loneliness and general exhaustion, Patel indicated that he’s leaving the field of sports all together and will be returning home.

The Giants initially hired Patel in 2017 under then-head coach Ben McAdoo. He survived the switch to Pat Shurmur and then again to Joe Judge.
Prior to his time with the Giants, Patel, a graduate of Kansas State University, served as the director of sports nutrition at the University of Oregon from 2014-2017. He also spent time with Michigan State University, his alma mater, KSU, and served as an intern for the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals.
With Patel leaving, the Giants now have an opening on their medical/strength and conditioning staff.
