NEW YORK GIANTS 34 – LAS VEGAS RAIDERS 10…
The New York Giants won a game, but it probably cost the #1 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Giants ended their 9-game losing streak by defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 34-10 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday. The Giants had also lost 13 road games in a row before this win. The Giants are now 3-13 with one game remaining.
Like the scoreboard, the Giants pretty much dominated the team stats, out-gaining the Raiders in first downs (22 to 14), total net yards (343 to 231), net yards rushing (155 to 63), net yards passing (188 to 168), and time of possession (30:48 to 29:12). The Giants also won the turnover battle (2 to 0).
Offensively, the Giants did not start the game very well. Their first two drives netted only 24 yards and two punts. Meanwhile, the Giants’ defense forced a three-and-out and ended the Raiders’ best drive of the first half with an interception. Las Vegas had driven 64 yards in nine plays, but on the tenth, inside linebacker Bobby Okereke intercepted quarterback Geno Smith at the New York 9-yard line, returning the ball 47 yards to the Las Vegas 44-yard line. Three plays after that, running back Devin Singletary broke off a 29-yard run and then scored from 1-yard out on the next play. Giants 7 – Raiders 0.
The Raiders responded with their only scoring drive of the first half, a 9-play, 35-yard drive that set up a 42-yard field goal. Back came the Giants with an 8-play, 65-yard possession that ended with a 12-yard touchdown run by quarterback Jaxson Dart. Outside linebacker Abdul Carter blew up a hand-off to wide receiver Tre Tucker for a 10-yard loss and the Raiders went three-and-out. With 3:23 left before halftime, the Giants gained 71 yards in 12 plays to set up a 32-yard field goal by place kicker Ben Sauls as time expired.
At the half, the Giants were up 17-3.
The Raiders gained one first down and were forced to punt after outside linebacker Brian Burns sacked Smith for a 13-yard loss on 3rd-and-8. The Giants then drove 71 yards, reaching the Las Vegas 5-yard line, but were forced to settle for a 23-yard field goal. The Raiders responded with their only touchdown drive of the game, a 14-play, 65-yard affair that lasted almost seven minutes, and resulted in a 4-yard touchdown pass by Smith on 4th-and-goal. (The Raiders converted on three 4th-down conversions on this drive). However, the Giants quickly erased that momentum when cornerback Deonte Banks returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. The Giants were up 17 points again, 27-10, as the 3rd quarter was coming to an end.
The Raiders crossed mid-field on their next possession, but on 3rd-and-6 from the New York 41-yard line, safety Dane Belton intercepted Smith. The Giants then put the game to bed with a marathon, 15-play, 75-yard drive that took almost nine minutes off of the clock. On 4th-and-1, Dart scored on a 2-yard run to make the game 34-10 with 3:40 left to play. The Raiders picked up a first down, but then turned the ball over on downs. Dart then kneeled three times to end the game.
Dart finished the game 22-of-30 for 207 yards, no touchdown passes, and no interceptions. He ran nine times for 48 yards and two touchdowns. His leading receiver was Wan’Dale Robinson, who caught 11 passes for 113 yards. Running back Tyrone Tracy carried the ball 14 times for 62 yards and Singletary carried it eight times for 45 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, as mentioned, the Giants held the Raiders to 14 first downs, 63 rushing yards, and 168 net passing yards. They picked off Smith twice. Those sacking the quarterback were Burns (1.5), Carter (0.5), linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (once), and defensive tackle Darius Alexander (once). The Giants also had nine tackles for losses, including two by Carter. Banks broke up two passes.
