JULY 24, 2025 NEW YORK GIANTS TRAINING CAMP REPORT…
The New York Giants held their second summer training camp practice of the year on Thursday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
“Day two,” said Head Coach Brian Daboll before practice. “Rolling along. We did low red zone yesterday, we’ll do some high red zone today. Do some one-on-ones today and good first day. Good to get started. A lot of things to correct. A lot of good things too. So go to day two.”
INJURY REPORT…
The following players remain on injury lists:
- Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List: LT Andrew Thomas (foot) and RB Eric Gray (knee)
- Active/Non-Football Injury (NFI) List: OLB Victor Dimukeje (pectoral)
NEW DEAL FOR DEXTER LAWRENCE…
The NFL Network is reporting that the New York Giants have renegotiated the contract of DL Dexter Lawrence, who signed a 4-year, $90 million contract extension in May 2023. The Giants are now adding $3M in incentives to his current deal for 2025. He was scheduled to make $17 million this season.
PRACTICE NOTES…
Some snippets from various media sources:
- Giants will not be in full pads until Sunday. Today, they were in helmets, jerseys, and shorts.
- The team continued to work in the red zone, but further back starting near the 20-yard line.
- In 1-on-1 drills, WR Malik Nabers and CB Paulson Adebo had some good reps against each other with Nabers making an excellent sideline catch in the end zone despite tight coverage. QB Russell Wilson threw this touchdown, in addition to touchdowns to TE Theo Johnson and WR Darius Slayton.
- Also in 1-on-1 drills, TE Thomas Fidone made a terrific one-hand catch on a high throw from QB Jaxson Dart. Dart also threw 1-on-1 touchdown passes to wide receivers Zach Pascal, Bryce Ford-Wheaton, Montrell Washington, and Da’Quan Felton.
- In 1-on-1, RB vs. ILB drills, QB Jameis Winston hit Devin Singletary, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Dante Miller for scores. QB Tommy DeVito connected with Miller and RB Cam Skattebo.
- Flashing good coverage in the 1-on-1 drills were defensive backs Tyler Nubin, Deonte Banks, and O’Donnell Fortune, as well as linebackers Micah McFadden, Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, and Ty Summers.
- In 11-on-11 team drills, QB Jaxson Dart hit WR Jalin Hyatt for a touchdown over CB Tre Hawkins from about 20 yards out.
- QB Russell Wilson threw a 5-yard touchdown pass over the middle to TE Daniel Bellinger. Wilson found WR Malik Nabers soon after for another touchdown.
- QB Jameis Winston also hit TE Greg Dulcich for a short touchdown pass over the middle.
- From 20 yards out, WR Wan’Dale Robinson made a superb touchdown catch while falling down against CB Andru Phillips on a pass from WR Russell Wilson.
- On the next snap, on a 2-point conversion attempt, CB Andru Phillips got his revenge when he picked off QB Russell Wilson on another pass intended for WR Wan’Dale Robinson.
- CB Nic Jones broke up a pass and on the next play got a “sack” on a blitz.
- OLB Abdul Carter flushed QB Jaxson Dart out of the pocket with a bull rush against RT Marcus Mbow. Carter not only worked off the edge but was spotted rushing from the inside, giving OC John Michael Schmitz issues on one play.
- Marcus Mbow worked at both right and left tackle in practice with the second unit.
- QB Jameis Winston threw a second touchdown (from 15 yards out) to TE Greg Dulcich, who beat ILB Ty Summers.
- CB Tre Hawkins picked off a short sideline throw from QB Jaxson Dart.
- ILB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles stuffed a run by RB Cam Skattebo.
- For the second day in a row, OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux got to the quarterback for a “sack.”
- DT Elijah Garcia also had a “sack.”
- CB Deonte Banks flashed with “sticky” coverage throughout practice.
