Here are some things to know as the New York Giants look ahead to Sunday’s potential playoff-clinching game at MetLife Stadium against the Indianapolis Colts.

Playoff status

This is, of course, a ‘win and get into the playoffs’ game for the Giants. There are, though, other scenarios in which the Giants could reach the playoffs this weekend. Here are all of those scenarios”

Giants coach Brian Daboll wasn’t biting earlier this week when he was asked what it would mean to him to make the playoffs as a first-year head coach.

“We’re not in it yet,” he said. “I’m not going to look too far down the road, and we’re going to try to beat the Colts. And that’s where I’m at with it.”

‘A chance’ for Adoree’

Giants’ No. 1 cornerback Adoree’ Jackson has not played since suffering a sprained MCL while returning a punt Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. Daboll said Monday that there is “a chance” Jackson could practice and play this week.

We will know more about Jackson’s potential availability when the Giants practice in full on Wednesday.

By the numbers

• Daniel Jones has 617 rushing yards this season, most for a quarterback in franchise history. That total is fifth in the league for quarterbacks. Jones is also the Giants’ career leader in quarterback rushing yards with 1,617.
• Jones has 3,028 passing yards, a career high. That is one more yard than the 3,027 he threw for as a rookie in 2019.
• This was pointed out in the BBV comment section this week. The chart shows how much quarterback play and quality coaching have meant to the Giants’ success this season.

• Saquon Barkley needs just 53 yards over the final two games to set a career-high in rushing yards. Barkley ran for 1,307 yards as a rookie in 2018. He currently has 1,254 yards, fourth in the league. He has 1,597 total yards from scrimmage, second-most of his career and sixth in the NFL.

• The Giants are 6-1 this season when they have a + turnover ratio. They are 1-5 when the have a – turnover ratio.
