The New York Giants can’t afford to be losing any offensive players, especially developing rookies who project to have a significant impact in the future.
Obviously, receiver Wan’Dale Robinson has already sustained a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season and some of the 2023 campaign. However, rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger is fending off a myriad of injuries, ranging from a broken eyesocket to a rib injury he suffered on a big hit against the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday.

Bellinger has served a big purpose for the Giants’ offense, despite their lackluster production. Luckily, it seems as if he dodged a serious injury that could’ve kept him out for the rest of the regular season, once again putting the Giants in tight-end purgatory.
“Running around I didn’t think about it too much, just moving around and twisting a little bit to make sure it’s all good,” Bellinger said this week, per the New York Post.
“That was the initial blow,’’ Bellinger said. “It really didn’t hurt much until later, we came out for the second half, that’s when I really started to feel it.”

So far this season, Bellinger has accrued 195 receiving yards, a 92.3% catch rate, and two receiving touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown on a trick play in the red zone, giving him three total. Considering how difficult it was to reach the end zone in 2021 under the leadership of Joe Judge, the Giants have managed to improve their efficiency ‘without’ Kenny Golladay and Kyle Rudolph.
Bellinger projects to be a significant part of the offense in most regards, including run blocking. That is where the rookie TE has made his biggest impact, helping to spring Saquon Barkley loose in the opposing defense’s backfield. Most of his injuries have been freak accidents, but he’s toughed them out and managed to continue producing despite variables working against him.
