Ranking the NFL’s True Franchise Players for Teams to Build Around Before 2025 Season | Bleacher Report

9. Dexter Lawrence II, DT, New York Giants. While no one has quite taken the mantle since Aaron Donald retired last offseason, a few young defenders have entered the spotlight. New York Giants standout Dexter Lawrence II is a bit more established, though he’s still on the younger side at 27.

Lawrence has become the heart of the Giants defense and is coming off a nine-sack season and his third straight Pro Bowl campaign. Pro Football Focus graded him second overall among 219 interior defenders for the 2024 season. While the Giants haven’t experienced a lot of success recently, they did find a true franchise player when they drafted Lawrence with the 17th overall pick in 2019.

27. New York Giants (Avg: 26.8, High: 24, Low: 29) QB: Russell Wilson, RB: Tyrone Tracy Jr., WR: Malik Nabers

It feels like this ranking is being carried by Nabers’ incredible season and people’s memories of what Wilson used to be. When he wasn’t running hot on deep balls last season, the Steelers offense looked dreadful. Which is exactly how the Broncos offense looked during Wilson’s two years in Denver and how the Seahawks offense looked during his final season in Seattle. Nabers is so outrageously good, though, that he probably should carry the Giants to a higher ranking than they would otherwise deserve. And Tracy didn’t look so bad himself during his own debut campaign.

Jameis Winston every bit the whimsical wild card Giants expected | New York Post

It takes more than three words to describe the entirety of Jameis Winston, the aura of Jameis Winston and, at times, the seeming absurdity of Jameis Winston. His arrival with the Giants has been on point, as far as putting on display his sincerity, irreverence, upbeat nature, and whimsical.

NFL over/under win totals: Predictions and best bets for all 32 teams in 2025 | The Athletic

New York Giants over 5.5 (+110). It would be nice if old guys Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers could find some stability and success after a rough couple of years bouncing around the league. Wilson will be a nice improvement over Daniel Jones, as Malik Nabers will see an uptick in catchable passes thrown on time. But, like Rodgers, Wilson doesn’t move around so well anymore and will be a sitting duck for pass rushers and boo birds. Both should be rampant, as the Giants open with road games at Washington and Dallas and then come home to face the Chiefs and Chargers. Then they play the Super Bowl champs twice in Weeks 6 and 8, sandwiched around a game in Denver. The Giants have built one of the best defensive fronts in the league, and while they may not be great enough to prevent a QB change to Jaxson Dart or save coach Brian Daboll’s job, they can get to six wins.

The Biggest Current Rival for Every NFC Team | SI.com

New York Giants biggest rival: Eagles. Every team in the NFC East is gunning for the Eagles, but the departure of Saquon Barkley adds another layer to this division rivalry. Giants owner John Mara wants nothing more than to sweep the Eagles this season, you know, outside of winning a Super Bowl, which seems unlikely for this team. Barkley rushed for more than 2,000 yards and won a Super Bowl in his first season away from New York. At the same time, the Giants were left with an infamous Hard Knocks scene of Mara telling GM Joe Schoen that he’s going to be sick if their former star running back ends up with a divisional opponent.
