The New York Giants have a win and in game coming up and seem likely to have one of their core young players available.
Year two for talented Giants edge pass rusher, Azeez Ojulari, has unfortunately been riddled with injuries. The 22-year-old outside linebacker missed the first two games of the Giants’ season. Then, missed weeks five through 12. He has since returned for the Giants over the last four games and made quite an impact.
Ojulari’s capabilities are evident with his 5.5 sacks in six games played in 2022 (223 snaps). Of those 5.5 sacks, 4.5 have come in the last four games since Ojulari has returned. Dominance to an already young and talented Giants defensive front.
Unfortunately, last week, Ojulari played a season-low 22 snaps in the Giants’ nail-biting loss to the Vikings. He had to exit with an ankle injury. The great news is, Ojulari is optimistic and planning to play this week as the Giants look to clinch a playoff berth at home.

Giants will likely have Azeez Ojulari for Week 17:
On the Giants’ injury report from yesterday, Ojulari was listed as a limited participant in practice. Ojulari spoke on how he feels, giving a fairly encouraging update.
“I think I’ll be straight. I mean, I’m trying to that’s the goal, you know? Being ready to play. So, I’m trying to go see however it takes, day by day, how I’m feeling. How I feel, that’s the main thing, and we get it going. Depending on how it feels whatever they say in there, the (athletic) training room staff and how it feels, to be honest. By that time, I’ll be able to decide if I can go.”
The Giants have a monumental opportunity awaiting. Certainly, they are at their best when their ridiculous front four of Ojulari, Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Leonard Williams are all on the field. Hopefully, Ojulari progresses throughout the rest of the week and can go for the Giants as they look to clinch their postseason berth this Sunday.
