Well, the season came to an end for 3 of the 4 teams in the NFC East on Sunday.
And with the end came a firestorm of change in the division. Well, sort of.
There’s been a lot of build-up, but we’re still waiting.
Let’s start with the Dallas Cowboys. They finished the season with an 8-8 record, and most have felt that this would be it for coach Jason Garrett. But rumors have been flying all day, and have given way to… essentially nothing. Still no word here in Dallas. I’m told Jason Garrett has been meeting with players in his office as part of their exit interviews. Other coaches are reviewing game tape. I’m also being told that a meeting with the Jones family may take place later despite Garrett saying it was at today noon.

It’ll be a situation to keep an eye on for sure.
The next team is definitely making changes and that’s the New York Giants. They decided to fire coach Pat Shurmur after Sunday’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Shurmur had a 9-23 record in 2 seasons as Giants head coach (.281 win pct)
– Giants: 3rd-worst record in NFL since 2018 (ahead of CIN, ARI)
– No head coach had more losses than Shurmur’s 23 from 2018-19 https://t.co/4N4YgDCgmG— James Palmer (@JamesPalmerTV) December 30, 2019
Now this will be a situation to keep an eye on as to who they will hire. Some have called for recently fired head coach Ron Rivera to take over, but he’s being rumored to Washington. Whoever they get as their coach, if they nail the draft, this team could be heading in the right direction. They’ve got people to build around in quarterback Daniel Jones, running back Saquon Barkley, and a serviceable defense. It could be a very good situation to come into.
Then there are the Washington Redskins. They fired former head coach Jay Gruden towards the beginning of the season, and now they’ve fired their president Bruce Allen. As stated earlier, it looks like former Carolina Panthers head coach could be headed to Washington. While some have wanted him in New York, I think it’d be a good match here in Washington. There are players to build around, and while management has been sort of shaky in the past, if owner Daniel Snyder gets a good person, it could be a very nice situation in Washington.
Ron Rivera would bring a tough defensive mindset set to the #Redskins. I also think he could retain Kevin O’Connell as OC and Ike Hilliard as WR’s coach which I think he should. At the end of the day fans would get their wish with Bruce Allen being out of control and likely gone.

And remember, while we’re all still waiting, double-check anything you see tweeted out, etc. Things change quickly! So make sure you’re doing your due diligence!!
