AUGUST 4, 2025 NEW YORK GIANTS TRAINING CAMP REPORT…
The New York Giants held their tenth summer training camp practice of the year on Monday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
ROSTER MOVES – TY SUMMERS TO INJURED RESERVE…
The Giants made four roster moves on Monday due to injuries at running back and linebacker. First, the Giants placed ILB Ty Summers (undisclosed injury) on Injured Reserve and waived/injured RB Rushawn Baker (knee). To fill those vacancies, the team signed ILB K.J. Cloyd (who was cut by the Denver Broncos in May) and RB Jonathan Ward (who was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers in June).
The 24-year old, 6’2”, 228-pound Cloyd was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Minnesota Vikings after the 2024 NFL Draft. The Vikings waived him in late July and he then spent some time with the Giants in August before being cut again. The Broncos signed him to their Practice Squad in December 2024, but cut him in May 2025.
The 27-year old, 6’0”, 202-pound Ward was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by the Arizona Cardinals after the 2020 NFL Draft. He has spent time with the Cardinals (2020-2022), New York Jets (2022), Tennessee Titans (2022-2023), and Steelers (2024-2025). Overall, Ward has played in 47 regular-season games with no starts, carrying the ball just 22 times for 91 yards. He also has six catches for 52 yards and one touchdown. Most of his playing time has come on special teams.

- In the same drills, TE Theo Johnson made a nice catch over S Dane Belton on a pass from QB Russell Wilson.
