The Huskies will return to the city they won their 12th national championship this season.
After winning the program’s 12th national title in Tampa this past April, UConn women’s basketball will return to the city on Thursday, Dec. 4 to face the USF Bulls at the Yuengling Center. This will complete a home-and-home that began in Connecticut last season.
The Huskies are 34-0 all-time against USF with the most recent victory coming at Gampel Pavilion in the second game of the 2024-25 campaign. Paige Bueckers scored 19 of the team’s 43 points in the first half before the freshmen and sophomores accounted for 27 of 30 points in the third quarter to extend the lead to 34. UConn eventually walked out with an 86-49 win.
The two schools were conference mates in the old Big East from 2005-2013 and then the American from 2013-20 until UConn jumped ship to the new Big East. During that time, they met in the conference tournament final every year between 2015-18, though the Huskies hoisted the trophy each time.
This is the fifth date out on UConn’s schedule and the first outside of a neutral site. The Huskies will face Boston College in an exhibition at Mohegan Sun Arena on Oct. 13, Louisville in Germany for the season opener on Nov. 5, Utah and either Syracuse or Michigan in the Women’s Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun on Nov. 21 and 23 then Iowa in the Champions Classic at the Barclays Center on Dec. 20.
