Another piece of the Huskies’ nonconference schedule is revealed.
Another piece of UConn men’s basketball’s nonconference schedule has been announced. Head coach Dan Hurley stated at the Dick Vitale Gala that the Huskies would participate in the 2025 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. The full 2025 field is unknown, but currently includes Clemson and BYU.
This year’s Jimmy V Classic will be the fifth time in program history that the Huskies will participate in the event. UConn last played in the Jimmy V Classic in 2023, where the Huskies rolled past North Carolina. UConn is 1-4 in the event all-time. The Huskies have a special connection to Jim Valvano, as he served as an assistant coach with UConn from 1970-72 under Dee Rowe.
UConn now has three high-quality nonconference games officially on the books for the 2025-26 season. The Huskies will welcome Arizona at home on Nov. 19 as part of a new home-and-home with the Wildcats, and also play Texas at home on Dec. 12 as part of the final leg of a home-and-home with the Longhorns.
