Can both squads make it to Memorial Day Weekend?
The 24-25 Syracuse Orange athletic year featured a bounce back from football, a long winter on the hardwood and some ups and downs in the spring.
This week we asked Orange fans to look ahead to 25-26 and tell us which teams you expected to have the best seasons. Here’s what you told us:
New HC Regy Thorpe will return some talented young players next season and with the job he did on Florida’s staff, fans expect he’ll get the Orange women to be the strongest women’s team. Field hockey was a close second and with a perennial NCAA team, it’s never a bad guess to choose them. Women’s rowing has had the best run of any women’s team the last two years so keep an eye out on the water for the Orange.
Gary Gait got Syracuse back to the Final Four and despite the loss to Maryland, fans are optimistic for next year. It’s interesting that despite the competing vibes around Adrian Autry and Fran Brown, fans are more hopeful for the basketball team to bounce back. Guess that’s what happens when you have one of the toughest schedules in the country….
