The conference rolled out their yearly awards on Tuesday.
With the regular season over, the ACC announced their 2025 season awards as well as their All-ACC team on Tuesday as determined by a vote of the league’s five head coaches.
Four members of the Syracuse Orange were honored for their performances, headlined by goalie Jimmy McCool, who was named the ACC Goalie of the Year.
McCool was also named to the All-ACC team alongside Joey Spallina, Owen Hiltz and Sammy English.
The Orange’s four selections were third-most in the conference behind Notre Dame’s six and Duke’s five, with North Carolina’s three and Virginia’s one rounding things out. That’s a solid 19 players on the All-ACC team.

McCool’s been having a great season in his first year as a starter, leading the ACC with 157 saves and sitting second with his 55.9 save percentage. He’s been especially impressive as of late, making 15 or more saves in four of SU’s last six games.
Joey Spallina leads the team with his 71 points and 42 assists, which is also good enough for him to lead the conference with 5.07 points per game and 3.0 assists per game. He had a career-high 11 points against Colgate back in March.
Owen Hiltz is having a tremendous senior season with 56 points and a team-leading 34 goals. He’s third in the ACC with 2.43 goals per game and fourth with 4.0 points per game.
Sammy English has been an iron man this year, playing offensive midfield, defensive midfield, face-off wings, man-down defense and transition. He hardly ever come off the field, and his numbers reflect it. Sammy ranks fifth on the team with 19 goals, third with 10 assists, fourth with 29 points, third with 41 ground balls and sixth with 10 caused turnovers. Simply put, he’s one of the best all-around midfielders in the country.
The Orange have themselves a rematch with Notre Dame this Friday in the ACC Tournament semifinals. The 1-seeded Irish will be looking for revenge for the 4-seeded Orange’s 14-9 win in the regular season. The game is set for 5 PM on the ACC Network.
